Hearing Aids

Hearing aids now come in a wide range of styles and colours, from the ‘almost invisible’ to more traditional styles. At our Coventry and Leamington hearing centres we will help you to make the best decision to meet your individual hearing needs.

Below are a selection of hearing aid styles we supply.

Made for Smartphone
Connect directly to your phone, and be in control of your hearing aids via an app which can customise your hearing experience by remembering locations and your preferences there.

Virtually Invisible
Custom fit to each person, invisible hearing aids rest in the second bend of the ear canal, making them virtually undetectable to others. They are designed to be removed daily to promote good ear health.

Completely in the canal (CIC)
Completely-in-Canal hearing aids (CIC) are custom-made to fit completely in the ear canal. Only the tip of a small plastic “handle” shows outside the canal, which is used to insert and remove the instrument.

In the ear (ITE)
In-the-Ear hearing aids (ITE) are also custom moulded uniquely for you and feature a faceplate that shows in the outer portion of your ear.

In the canal (ITC)
Like invisible hearing aids, In-the-Canals (ITC) are custom-fit to your unique ear, but the faceplate shows in the outer portion of the first bend.

Behind the ear (BTE)
Behind-the-Ear hearing aids (BTE) are the world’s most common style, with the hearing technology housed in a casing that rests behind the ear. A clear plastic acoustic tube directs amplified sound into an earbud or a customised earmould that is fitted inside the ear canal.

Receiver in the canal (RIC)
Barely visible when worn, Receiver-in-Canal hearing aids (RIC) place the receiver (or speaker) inside the ear canal — connected to the power source by thin electrical wires. They provide a comfortable, open fit.

The newest models of hearing aids contain technology which allows you to be in control via your smartphone. Adjusting volume, changing programme or altering your bass/treble balance can all be achieved in an intuitive and user friendly app. GPS also enables the app to remember the settings you have chosen for a particular location so that next time you visit, the aids automatically switch to your preferences. DEX Assistive Listening Devices

A whole new world of wireless sound.

The new DEX™ assistive listening devices from Widex let you take advantage of a whole new world of sounds.

They make it easy for your hearing aids to communicate with:

– Phones
– TV’s
– Remotes
– Other external devices

For enjoying TV. Watching television can sometimes be a challenge for hearing aid users. With our TV-DEX, high-quality audio is streamed with no delay straight to your hearing aid.

No delays or echoes: The main advantage of the TV-DEX is its real time hi-fi quality sound. You experience TV or audio sound exactly as it was intended – without annoying delays or echoes.

Room Off: With the TV-DEX you can temporarily switch the hearing aid’s microphone off and hear the TV sound only – we call this ‘Room Off’ – meaning you can enjoy your favourite TV programme without unnecessary background noise.

10 hours battery: The TV-DEX delivers up to 10 hours of uninterrupted, top quality TV or audio sound between recharging of controller.

Your remote control.

The RC-DEX is a stylish and user-friendly remote control that gives you control of hearing aid functions like volume and programs.

Intuitive in use: Small enough to fit on a keychain, the RC-DEX is intelligently laid out with three simple keys. This means that you can quickly and easily start using it.

Feature activation: As features are activated, verbal or tone cues let you know. An LED indicator on the remote control also shows when it is activated.

For easy landline use

The PHONE-DEX is an all-purpose, cordless phone that streams crystal clear sound directly to your hearing aids.

It provides you with good speech understanding in both ears.

It is incredibly easy to use – the only thing you need to do is hold the phone normally.

The PHONE-DEX works as a conventional phone as well. So family and friends can use it.

The UNI-DEX is a neck-worn plug and play solution for easy mobile phone use. The device streams audio to your hearing aids – not just from mobiles, but any device with a mini-jack output.

Its long battery life means that UNI-DEX can stream for up to 40 hours. And it takes only an hour to fully recharge again.

Enjoy talking hands-free on your mobile phone or stream audio from your favourite device like an iPod, iPad etc.

COM-DEX is a stylish, hands-free communication device. You can connect COM-DEX to two phones.
